The robberies occurred at the following locations and dates:

The suspect is described as a white, Hispanic male, 5'6" to 5'8" in height, medium build, who speaks broken English with an Hispanic accent. The public should be aware of the suspect's brazen and violent nature, as well as other characteristics when committing these robberies, to wit:

  • Brandishes a silver-colored revolver;
  • Immediately approaches tellers, leaps over bank counter, and directs tellers to empty drawers of cash (sometimes aggressively grabs tellers);
  • Leaves no notes;
  • Disguises himself with a fake beard, baseball cap, and a piece of tape across his nose;
  • Wears blue jeans, white tennis shoes, thick flannel shirt and gloves
  • Seen fleeing in a 2000-2005 blue Chevy Impala, late 1980s gray Honda Civic and a mid 1990s silver/gray Buick or Nissan.

On February 25, 2008, an individual believed to be the same robber, attempted unsuccessfully to rob the following banks:

BANK OF McKENNEY, 4700 Jefferson Park Rd., Hopewell, VA
BB&T, 5100 Oaklawn Blvd., Hopewell, VA

Members of the public should consider this individual armed and extremely dangerous, and should not consider approaching him. Anyone with information should call the York/Poquoson Sheriff’s Office at (757) 890-4957, the Richmond Metro Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000, or the Norfolk FBI Office at (757) 455-0100 as soon as possible. Any detail a caller can provide concerning time, place and physical description will greatly assist law enforcement efforts in capturing him. A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information leading directly to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for these robberies.

The agencies greatly appreciate any assistance the public can provide. Representatives from the participating agencies will announce the above and will be available to answer questions at a press conference, which will be held hosted by the York/Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, 301 Main Street, Yorktown, Virginia, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4 th.
