FBI NORFOLK EVENTS

Recognizing the interdependency of children, parents, other adults, community groups, businesses, schools, social services, and health services, the FBI focuses its community outreach efforts on the community, the schools, and the workplace. The Norfolk Division of the FBI actively participates in events that:

  1. Assist local businesses to establish crime prevention
  2. Educate corporations about the dangers of substance abuse and Internet safety
  3. Provide up-to-date information on gangs, terrorism and other problems affecting the community
  4. Promote diversity and tolerance

The Norfolk Division of the FBI's Mentoring Program

FBI school-based initiatives center around Adopt-a-school Programs. Included are the Junior Special Agent, Mentoring, and Tutoring Programs, which assist socioeconomically disadvantaged students to improve academically and to develop into good citizens. Other school-based efforts involve providing FBI personnel as guest speakers for existing issues affecting the public schools.
